Job Summary:

A Well Engineer is responsible for providing engineering and operational support for one or more well rigs or sites. They are tasked with developing and delivering optimal technical well designs for their area of responsibility, preparing well proposals, design fundamentals, well programs (eg, drilling, completion, operations), project budgets, and end-of-well reports. Perform the duties of Assistant Well Site Manager in accordance with the development requirements of the Well Engineer Training Program. It also supports project risk management and uses lessons learned to improve the well program and provide real-time support to project operations as needed. This role is expected to identify opportunities to improve services, well programs, well practices and formally communicate results.

Relationship:

Reports to the Integration Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

Candidate duties may include:

Provide technical and operational support throughout the implementation of the project.
Prepare good plans, budget estimates and good project control briefings.
Support multiple PL operations in collaboratively optimized application design.
Assist with incident response, recovery, and incident investigation.
Understand, communicate and apply new technologies to the project.
Analyze design performance and formally capture design improvement and optimization opportunities.
Participate in the selection and evaluation of service companies, suppliers and equipment.
Ensure proper communication with relevant parties (such as Clients, PLs, third parties etc.)
Participate in HARC and other risk assessment procedures.
Anticipate and plan medium and long term needs based on program requirements
Anticipate operational changes and needs and revise plans accordingly.
Manage and monitor daily workflow (eg, volume, time, cost, and quality) against schedule and make recommendations for improvements using new technology options.
Evaluate performance against goals, focusing on service companies and prime contractors.
Conduct engineering studies to resolve ongoing issues and initiate engineering corrective actions for continuous improvement.
Participating in critical operations is also required.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor of Engineering
Strong mechanical ability
At least 10 years of experience as an engineer in an oil and gas deepwater environment
Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must be able to work in a team environment
Must perform important functions in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven problem solving skills, proactive, fast learner, good organization and time management skills, positive attitude
